The Corporate Advocatus Diaboli

Imagine if there was such a thing as a corporate Advocatus Diaboli … what would the role look like?

Formal strategic decisions made in the absence of the Advocatus Diaboli would not be seen as valid.

The Advocatus Diaboli would enforce a critical distance on decisions – where the outcome cannot be satisfactorily explained additional justification would need to be provided.

Indaba - negotiation method

It’s called an “indaba” (pronounced IN-DAR-BAH), and is used to simplify discussions between many parties.

An indaba is designed to allow every party to voice its opinion, but still arrive at a consensus quickly. It works because opinions and arguments can only be aired in a particular way:

Instead of repeating stated positions, each party is encouraged to speak personally and state their “red lines,” which are thresholds that they don’t want to cross. But while telling others their hard limits, they are also asked to provide solutions to find a common ground.

End of mobile era

Time for another change in the direction of this blog. For many years I've had links in the sidebar dedicated to blogs and websites dealing with mobile communications and mobile industry.

The mobile industry was one of my greatest interests and passions. I was mobile-crazy even before Apple released iPhone 1.

Over the years I explored the subject and had it enough for now.

I will allow myself moments of randomness and will write about everything I find intresting without any specific content guidelines or line of thought.

Happy to be free in my writing.
